Concours Seminar at Auto Vino
April 1 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm$55.00
This event will be of interest to all car enthusiasts. Those that just like to attend Concours events, show cars and judge cars. People can come hear about NorCal Concours events from their Chairman, and learn about the many Concours judging styles from top Concours judges. The venue AutoVino is worth checking out on its own as it has some amazing cars.
We are planning on doing this as a multi part event. Starting with a casual cars and coffee in the parking lot in the morning (and a peoples choice voting). Then move inside to the museum room for a late morning event with three short talks from the Concours Chairmans of their events. After our provided lunch, our afternoon discussions talk about the various concours judging standards used for the shows and the marque clubs judging. We’ll then break out to the parking lot for specific concours judging discussions and some mock judging of cars.
One of the cars that will be used for the mock judging will be a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. For that style of judging it will be done as fine point judging by a team of Model A Ford of America judges. The next newest car for mock judging will be a 1975 Dino 308 GT4 (as seen in the flyer). Judged using the standards of the International Advisory Council for the Preservation of Ferrari Automobiles. The last car will also likely be an old car. And Jim Perell the Chief of Concours for the SCCA-SFR will be leading that.
Below is the flyer for the event and the email blast that went out to the FOC club presenting this event. Folks can sign up at the website URL https://www.focnorcal.org/events/foc-concours-seminar .
